Hello dear parents   You all must have noticed that babies under 6 months age spit up regularly, mostly after having feeds. Many times they are having continuous hiccups. Sometimes they cry constantly for about 2 hours, usually in the evening.  At that time we look for help, a little worried and concerned but then the entry of our elderly people comes with lots of reassurance, home remedies, and the words. Words like “ don’t worry baby is growing” or “it’s good for the health” or “baby is gaining the length” or" it’s common among babies of these group” etc, etc( believe me I also had these advices )   But the fact is-” this is common but not normal”.   Hello d ear parents ,   Olive oil, coconut oils, Sesame oil, mustard oil or any other oil…..:” but they used that oil and the baby are so well”.      New parents frequently ask me these questions and sometimes want authentic references too.       “Our friend A residing in California suggested almond oil”, our relative B in Europe suggested us use of Shea butter, our grandmother is saying to use desi ghee,malish wali (yes, most of Indians keep a person to massage baby) is saying coconut oil that too with garlic, carom seeds, Etc, Etc.
